Lifting
From a small forklift to a 110 ton/m lorry mounted crane we can provide the kit to carry out any lift you might require.
The largest in the southwest, our 110 ton/m Fassi mounted on a custom built 5 axle Scania 164 gives us the capability to carry out jobs that no other crane can. Just a few of the advantages over a normal mobile crane are as follows:
- 22 ton maximum lift, reducing gradually as the distance increases to 1 ton at 33m.
- Remote control- the operator can stand anywhere in the area to give the best viewpoint, not only improving safety but also negating the need for a banksman.
- Greater access- mounted on a tractor unit we can gain access to sites that larger mobile cranes would not be able to get to.
- More flexibility- fitted with a removable fly jib our Fassi does not need masses of headroom to operate, the flexibility of the jib means we can even direct it under doorways and lift the other side.
- Greater reach- unlike a traditional mobile crane, a lorry mounted one can still lift even when nearly horizontal, giving a much larger radius of reach.
- Huge cost savings- since we can not only lift but also transport your item, all with one vehicle, there are none of the complications (or costs!) of having to organise both a crane and a lorry to be on site together.
As well as the usual ‘lift and haul’ type jobs, we are also able to offer assistance with things such as inspections- making use of the crane and our fully tested and certified “man-basket” to provide access to places that cant otherwise be easily reached. With the operator and his remote control in the basket with you its certainly the easiest way to carry out this sort of work.
We increasingly find ourselves carrying out longer term on-site jobs, sometimes for over a week at a time and as far away as Scotland, doing work such as the assembly of flat pack houses. Those that have tried our crane over a mobile one say they will never go back. This is not only because of the cost savings involved but also because of the time savings gained by having an operator that they not only personally get to know, but who gets to know them, their team and how they work. When lowering delicate, fully plastered panels into place you cannot beat having the person with the controls stood right where the action is happening!

What is the maximum weight you can lift?
We can lift around 22 tons if the item is right next to the lorry. This weight decreases as distance increases, but we an still lift 1 ton at 33m- quite an impressive sight! HOW DO YOU CATER FOR UNUSUAL OR DELICATE ITEMS?
We have a whole range of specialized lifting tackle collected over many years of doing this sort of work. From flying forks to custom made spreader bars we can ensure your item is lifted without damage.
Will my load be insured?
Yes. All of our lifting equipment is fully tested and certified, and our load coverage is well above the average for the industry, we can even arrange special insurance if necessary. All of our drivers are fully trained and used to loading, transporting and unloading the oddest of items.
Can you store my item?
We have a large, purpose built yard at Hele, near Exeter. This provides us with plenty of secure storage space for machines and other items where necessary. We can also offer undercover storage for those most valuable of items. With cranage facilities on site, loading and unloading is made simple.
